Levanta Poeira is a school that offers lessons in samba and other brazilian dances in the heart of Montreal.

4:00pm to 5:15pm - beginner
5:30pm to 6:45pm - intermediary
In Gatineau: at studio LevantaPoeira
Tuesdays 7pm to 8:15pm - beginner
Wednesdays from 7pm to 8:15pm - beginner
Thursdays from 7pm to 8:15pm - beginner
Saturdays from 1pm to 2:15pm - all levels/ages
Description:
The class includes many aspects from the dance scene in Brazil - from the many faces of Samba to the rhythms and cultural manifestations of Pernambuco.

Levanta Poeira is a popular expression in Brazil which means "lift the dust". This is a phenomenon you will find everywhere in the country - where this is a living cultural manifestation, where the people come together to play, to dance, to party. Where the earth is pounded by the feet of the common people - simple, talented, festive - a great cloud of dust rises into the sky. It is the sign that the warmth of the brazilian spirit is present!
It also means, as an expression: "Don't give up! We can change things!"
