Levanta Poeira is a school that offers lessons in samba and other brazilian dances in the heart of Montreal.

The spring session is coming at you with a brand new face! My trip to Brazil has brought me even closer to my roots, my values and my spirituality. I have further discovered the country I grew up in, and that I love so much. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to share this with you in simplicity, without competition, without labels, without pretense...

Levanta Poeira is a popular expression in Brazil which means "lift the dust". This is a phenomenon you will find everywhere in the country - where this is a living cultural manifestation, where the people come together to play, to dance, to party. Where the earth is pounded by the feet of the common people - simple, talented, festive - a great cloud of dust rises into the sky. It is the sign that the warmth of the brazilian spirit is present!

It also means, as an expression: "Don't give up! We can change things!"
